Krista Nelson

Krista Nelson was named chief executive officer of UnitedHealthcare Community & State in January 2024. Nelson joined UnitedHealthcare in 2009 and has held a variety of leadership roles, including chief operating officer and chief growth and experience officer for UnitedHealthcare, and CEO for UnitedHealthcare Individual and Family Plan.

Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, Nelson worked at Deloitte in strategy and operations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
