UnitedHealth Group was recognized by The Civic 50 as one of the most community-minded companies in the United States for the eighth consecutive year. Civic 50 honorees are public and private companies with U.S. operations that are selected based on four criteria: investment, integration, institutionalization and impact.
“I continue to be motivated and inspired by the commitment our colleagues demonstrate to their communities and the people they serve. The people of this company translate the words of our mission into personal action on so many fronts every day, so I hope they take pride in this well-earned recognition of their efforts,” said Dave Wichmann, CEO, UnitedHealth Group.
UnitedHealth Group was honored for fostering partnerships that build healthier communities, supporting employees in their efforts to give back, and providing data to drive critical discussions. It has been included in The Civic 50 every year since the initiative began in 2012.
The Civic 50 is an initiative by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. It recognizes the 50 most community-minded companies in the United States each year as determined by an annual survey. The Civic 50 also reports best practices to provide a framework for good corporate citizenship.
“Businesses are an important driver of social good in communities through the power and passion of employees and strategic investment in causes that matter,” said Natalye Paquin, president and CEO, Points of Light. “Companies like UnitedHealth Group are powerful examples of how companies can build and sustain purpose in their brands.”
